DAVE ARCHER'S END OF SEASON REPORT Can I start with a big Thank-You to all the players, coaches, managers, mums and dads
who have supported the under 12 section this year at Stourbridge.
This season saw a number of changes within the coaching structure, which I hope has benefited all those players who enjoy playing rugby. I have certainly enjoyed coaching you this year and I know my fellow coaches will agree with me when I say we have seen massive progress with the development of your core skills during the season.
When I look back at the games we have played I am so pleased with the way Stourbridge have performed whether we win, draw or lose your commitment to the task has always been 100 percent.
I know winning and losing is not always looked on as the true measurement of success these days but it still feels good when I look at our results this year and see that in both first games played and second games played we have won more than we have lost. This is something you should feel good about and is well deserved.
The last 3 weeks have taken us to 3 festivals where we have had great success, reaching the semi-finals at both Bromsgrove and Luctonians eventually loosing out on both occasions to the eventual winners.
Next year see’s us progress to under 13 level where we will play 15 a side Rugby. This will be a big step up, playing on full size pitches. We might even have to think about introducing a 1-hour mid-week training session?
So think fit, get fit and keep fit and I’ll see you all next season. Oh and that goes for the coaches as well!
